Full-Contour Zirconia Crown
Maximum Strength, Zero Chipping Risk

CIT Dental Lab’s Full-Contour Zirconia Crown is the posterior workhorse for dental practices across the Eastern United States who need a restoration that genuinely holds up. Milled as a single monolithic piece from high-strength zirconia — with no porcelain overlay and no risk of chipping — this crown delivers 1,000–1,200+ MPa of flexural strength, tight marginal accuracy, and consistent results on every case. Ideal for bruxers, high-load molars, and any posterior patient who has been through the frustration of chipped PFM crowns. Free 2-way shipping. 8-day in-lab turnaround. Compatible with all major intraoral scanners.

The End of Porcelain Chipping

The primary failure mode of traditional PFM crowns is porcelain delamination and chipping a problem that simply does not exist with a monolithic full-contour zirconia crown. There is no porcelain overlay to chip. There is no metal-ceramic interface to fracture. The entire crown is one material, one piece, one structure. For your bruxer patients, second molar cases, and any posterior case under significant functional load, full-contour zirconia is the material that holds up year after year.

Precision CAD/CAM Milling + Hand Characterization

Every CIT full-contour zirconia crown is milled using precision CAD/CAM workflows engineered for tight marginal accuracy. After milling and high-temperature sintering, each crown is hand-characterized by our technicians stained and glazed to match your specified shade with surface texture and value adjustments that make the restoration blend naturally with adjacent dentition. You get the consistency of digital fabrication and the artistry of technician finishing in every case.

Clinical Specifications

Full-Contour vs. Ultra-Translucent Zirconia
Which Is Right for Your Case?

Full-contour zirconia is the right choice when strength is the primary clinical requirement: posterior molars, bruxers, second molar regions, and cases with limited reduction space. Ultra-translucent zirconia is the right choice when esthetic appearance is the priority: anterior teeth, premolars in the smile zone, and patients with high cosmetic expectations. Frequently Asked Questions

Full-contour zirconia prioritizes strength flexural strength of 1,000–1,200+ MPa making it the best choice for posterior cases, bruxers, and high-load situations. Ultra-translucent zirconia trades some strength (~600–800 MPa) for significantly higher light transmission and translucency, making it look far more like a natural tooth. Use full-contour zirconia posteriorly for durability; use ultra-translucent zirconia anteriorly for esthetics.
Choose lithium disilicate (eMax) when maximum translucency is the priority particularly for thin veneers (under 0.5mm), inlays, onlays, and anterior crowns where the pressed ceramic's superior optical depth produces the most natural result. Zirconia offers greater strength but less translucency. For anterior cases with parafunctional risk, ultra-translucent zirconia may be preferred over eMax for added durability.
Yes. Submit digital shade photos with your case for custom matching reference. Include photos of the prepared tooth and adjacent natural teeth in natural lighting for best results. Our technicians use the photos alongside your written shade prescription to build characterization and translucency into the restoration.
Yes. CIT can fabricate all all-ceramic restorations — zirconia crowns, eMax, and veneers — directly from digital scan files submitted via any major intraoral scanner platform. Digital cases start production immediately upon file receipt.
